据国外媒体报道， 一种新的激活破解方法已经被发现， 用户可以通过新的软件必备工具可以能够绕开Windows(窗口化操作系统system) 7和Windows Server 2008 R2的激活机制：Windows Activation Technologies（WAT）。 通过新的破解工具， 所有与Windows系统文件程序相关的激活和授权， 以及slui.exe（激活Windows 7的exe文件）都将再也不能够启动， 用户因此将永远规避Windows系统的激活机制。
另外， 禁用WAT机制将避开Windows 7 30天试用期限制。 据了解到， 当30天试用期截止， Windows 7会提示用户激活系统， Windows 7墙纸同一个时间将变为黑色， 桌面上出现“This copy of Windows is not genuine”（这不是正版Windows拷贝）水印。
